§ 41210 Mojave Desert Air District

Key Takeaways

  • •There is a special area called the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District.
  • •This area includes parts of San Bernardino and Riverside counties, but not the parts already in the South Coast district.
  • •The district can grow bigger if nearby areas ask to join and the request is approved.
  • •All parts of the district must be connected; they can't be separate pieces.

Example

A small town near San Bernardino wants to join the Mojave Desert district to help manage their air pollution better.

The town's leaders can ask to join, and if the Mojave Desert district board agrees, the town can become part of the district. This means the town will follow the same air quality rules as the rest of the district.
