§ 41230 Mojave Desert Air Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The Mojave Desert board makes rules to keep the air clean, but they can't break state or federal laws.
  • •These rules must help reduce air pollution as required by California's clean air laws.
  • •Old rules from San Bernardino County stay in place until the Mojave Desert board changes them.

Example

A factory in the Mojave Desert wants to build a new smokestack.

The Mojave Desert board must make sure the factory follows rules to keep the air clean. If the old San Bernardino rules say the smokestack can't release too much smoke, the factory has to follow those rules until the Mojave board makes new ones.
