§ 107020 Temporary Radiologic Technology Permit

This law lets the department give a temporary permit to people who have met the training and work requirements for radiologic technology and are waiting to take the certification exam, letting them work just like they have a full certificate for a limited time.

Key Takeaways

  • •A temporary permit can be issued to anyone who has met the education and experience rules and is waiting for the exam.
  • •The permit gives the same work rights as a full certificate while it’s valid.
  • •The permit is good until 90 days after the next exam, but if the person doesn’t take the exam, it ends on the exam day.

Example

Jane finished her radiology school and met all the experience rules, but her certification exam isn’t until next month. She applies for the temporary permit and gets it, so she can start working in a hospital right away.

Because Jane got the permit, she can do the same jobs a fully certified radiologic technologist can. The permit stays good until 90 days after the next exam date. If Jane decides not to take the exam, her permit ends on the day of that exam.
