§ 74705 Statute Severability Clause

• •If one part of this law is found to be unfair or wrong, the rest of the law can still be used.
• •The law is meant to be understood in a broad and flexible way.
• •If a rule doesn't work for a specific person or situation, it doesn't ruin the whole law.

Imagine a law says you can't have loud parties after 10 PM, but one part says you also can't play music at all during the day.

If a judge says the 'no music during the day' part is unfair, the rest of the law about loud parties at night still counts. The bad part gets removed, but the rest stays.
