§ 21061 Slaughterhouse Cattle Brand Inspection

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss can make rules for checking cattle and hides at places where animals are killed for meat.
  • •These rules can say how often checks happen and allow for extra checks if needed.
  • •If someone wants extra checks, they have to pay for it themselves.
  • •The person selling the animals doesn’t have to pay for these extra checks.

Example

A meatpacking plant wants more inspections than usual to make sure their cattle are healthy.

The plant has to pay for these extra checks, not the farmer who sold them the cattle.
