  • •The cattle must go straight to a licensed slaughterhouse and have a special permit with them.

  • •The permit can be taken away if rules aren't followed, and then the cattle must get a brand check.

Example

If the cows were checked before in a registered feedlot, the farmer can get a special permit for $100. The cows must go straight to a licensed slaughterhouse with the permit. If the farmer doesn’t follow the rules, the permit can be canceled, and the cows will need a brand check.
