§ 19384 Pet Food Processing Regulations

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about making sure animal parts used for pet food don't end up in human food.
  • •The boss (director) makes rules for how to handle, move, and store these animal parts safely.
  • •The rules are there to stop people from accidentally or intentionally using pet food stuff in food for humans.

Example

A factory makes dog food from animal parts that aren't safe for people to eat.

The factory must follow special rules to handle, move, and store these parts so they don’t mix with food meant for humans. If they don’t follow the rules, they could be in trouble.
