§ 29545 County Annexation Approval Process

Key Takeaways

  • •If most voters say yes to a proposal, the county leaders must write it down in their meeting notes.
  • •After writing it down, they have to sign the papers to make the annexation (adding land) official.
  • •This only happens if the vote passes with the needed majority.

Example

A small town votes on whether to join a bigger nearby city.

If more than half the voters say yes, the county leaders must write down the result and sign the papers to make the town part of the city.
