§ 29543 Annexation Voter Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •If most people vote 'yes' on the annexation proposal, it passes.
  • •All the rules and conditions in the annexation agreement become official if it passes.
  • •The votes are counted to see if more than half of the voters said 'yes'.

Example

A small town votes on whether to become part of a nearby big city.

If more than half of the voters in the small town say 'yes' to joining the big city, then the small town officially becomes part of the big city, and all the rules about how this will work are now in effect.
