§ 112220 Shellstock Labeling Exemptions

Key Takeaways

  • •This law says some seafood doesn't need labels.
  • •If the seafood is stored cold and not for sale or shipping, no label is needed.
  • •If the seafood is sold right where it is (like at a fish market), no label is needed.

Example

You go to a fish market and buy fresh oysters right there.

The oysters don't need a label because you're buying them directly from the market.
