§ 111780 Cosmetic Label Tampering Ban

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't mess with the label on makeup or beauty products if it's for sale.
  • •This means no tearing, covering, or changing the label in a way that makes it wrong or confusing.
  • •If you do this, it's against the law.

Example

You have a bottle of lotion you want to sell, but the label says it expires next month. You peel off the expiration date sticker so people think it's still good.

This is breaking the law because you changed the label to hide important info, making the product misleading.
