§ 110675 Food Labeling Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Food packages must have a label with the name and address of who made, packed, or sold it.
  • •The label must show how much food is inside, like weight or number of items.
  • •Small mistakes in the amount are okay, and tiny packages might not need all this info.

Example

You buy a bag of chips at the store.

The bag must have a label saying who made it and how much is inside, like '8 oz.' If it doesn’t, the chips are misbranded, and the store could get in trouble.
