§ 110661 Food Facility Registration Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •Food made or stored in a place that isn't registered with the state is considered 'misbranded' (which means it's not allowed).
  • •This rule applies to all food processing places in the state, except those that only work with dry beans.
  • •If a food place isn't registered, the food from there can't be sold or used.

Example

A small bakery makes cookies but never registered their kitchen with the state.

The cookies are considered 'misbranded' because they were made in a place that wasn't registered. This means the bakery can't sell those cookies until they register their kitchen.
