§ 107050 Radiologic School Approval Standards

• •The department can consider other agencies' accreditations when approving a school.
• •Those other accreditations must be based on standards that protect the public as well as the state’s own rules.
• •The department decides if the outside standards are equivalent before accepting them.

A college has been accredited by a national health education board for its radiology program.

When the state department decides whether to approve that college for training radiologic technologists, it can count the national accreditation, but only if the department believes the board’s standards keep the public as safe as the state’s own Radiologic Technology Act standards.
