§ 106975 Radiologic Technologist Exemptions

This law says that Section 106965 does NOT apply to certain people, like doctors, students using X‑ray machines under supervision, federal workers, and others who meet specific conditions.

Key Takeaways

  • •Section 106965 does not apply to licensed health professionals like doctors and dentists.
  • •Students using X‑ray machines are exempt only when they are supervised by a qualified instructor.
  • •Federal government employees are exempt while doing their government jobs.
  • •Other specific exemptions exist for people with certain permits or temporary exemptions.

Example

A dental student is taking an X‑ray of a patient’s teeth while being watched by a licensed dentist.

Because the student is using the X‑ray under a dentist’s supervision, Section 106965 does not apply to them, so they are exempt from the rules that would normally apply.
