§ 102360 Death Notifications To Voters

• •The list must be sent by the 15th day of each month.
• •It only includes people who were 18 or older when they died.
• •The list must contain name, Social Security number, sex, age, birthplace, birthdate, residence, and death date/place.
• •Copies go to the voter registrar (or county clerk), the county welfare department, and the local Social Security office.

Jane's 70‑year‑old neighbor, Mr. Lee, passes away in March. The local registrar of births and deaths creates a list that includes his name, Social Security number, age, birthdate, where he lived, and when and where he died, and sends that list to the voter registrar, county clerk, county welfare office, and the local Social Security office by March 15.

Because of this law, the voter rolls get updated to remove Mr. Lee, the county knows he’s no longer eligible for certain services, and Social Security can stop sending him benefits.
