§ 12976 Recordkeeping Violation Penalties

Key Takeaways

  • •If you break the rules about keeping records (like not writing things down when you're supposed to), you can get in trouble.
  • •Breaking these rules is a small crime, not a big one.
  • •You might have to go to jail for up to 6 months, or pay up to $1,000, or both.

Example

Your boss tells you to write down every time someone gets hurt at work, but you don't do it.

If you ignore the rule on purpose, you could get fined or even go to jail for a little while.
