Key Takeaways

  • •The boss of a government department can change how the work is organized, like creating or removing teams, but only if the Governor says it's okay.
  • •The boss can make rules for the department and decide what jobs each worker does, as long as it follows the law.
  • •The boss can move workers to different teams or jobs if it helps the department work better.

Example

The boss of the Department of Parks decides to create a new team to take care of all the playgrounds in the state.

The boss can do this if the Governor agrees. The boss can also make new rules for this team, like how often they check the playground equipment, and can move workers from other teams to this new one if it helps the department do a better job.
