§ 50503 Trust Fund Fraud Prohibitions

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't take or use money from a trust fund unless the law says it's okay.
  • •You can't lie or leave out important facts when dealing with loans or loan payments.
  • •If you're in charge of a company handling home loans and you steal money, you'll be in big trouble and have to pay it all back.

Example

A bank employee takes money from a customer's mortgage payment to pay for their own vacation.

This is breaking the law because the employee is stealing money that was supposed to be used for the customer's loan. They would have to pay the money back and could go to jail.
