§ 6034 Curly Top Virus Districts

Key Takeaways

  • •California is split into 4 main areas (Districts I-IV) to check for a plant disease called curly top virus.
  • •Each district covers specific counties (like Riverside in District I or Sacramento in District III).
  • •The state can add new areas to these districts if they find the virus there and think it’s needed.

Example

A farmer in Fresno County notices their sugar beets have curly top virus.

Since Fresno is in District II, the state will check the crops there and nearby areas to stop the virus from spreading.
