§ 29559 Hearing Continuance For Evidence

Key Takeaways

  • •At the hearing, everyone who cares about the case can talk and share their side.
  • •Everything said at the hearing is written down so the boss (director) can decide what really happened.
  • •If someone needs more time to find important proof, the boss can push the hearing to a later date.

Example

Imagine your neighbor’s dog barks all night, and you complain to the city. The city sets up a hearing where you, your neighbor, and others can speak.

At the hearing, you and your neighbor tell your sides, and the city writes it all down. If your neighbor says they need time to get proof the dog isn’t theirs, the city can delay the hearing to let them find that proof.
