§ 2224 County Commissioner Salary Funding

Key Takeaways

  • •The state can help pay a commissioner's salary in some counties.
  • •The state will pay up to $6,600 per year for the commissioner's salary.
  • •The state's payment cannot be more than two-thirds of the commissioner's total salary.

Example

A county hires a commissioner and pays them $10,000 per year.

The state can help pay part of this salary. The state will pay up to $6,600, but this amount cannot be more than two-thirds of the total salary. So, the state pays $6,600 (which is less than two-thirds of $10,000), and the county pays the rest.
