§ 14657 Lot Release After Analysis

This rule says that if a piece of land that was taken and held by the government is found not to break any laws, the government must let it go right away.

Key Takeaways

  • •The secretary reviews any seized lot.
  • •If the lot doesn’t break the law, it must be released immediately.
  • •The hold order on the lot is removed right away.

Example

The city takes a vacant lot because they think it was built without a permit. After the secretary checks the paperwork, they see the lot actually follows all the rules.

Because the lot isn’t breaking any rules, the secretary must quickly give the lot back to its owner and cancel the hold order.
