§ 21561 Fresno Redistricting Commission Duties

• •Fresno County has a group called the Citizens Redistricting Commission.
• •Every 10 years, after the big national count of people (census), this group must change the lines of the areas that each county leader (supervisor) covers.
• •The changes must follow the rules in this part of the law.

After the 2030 census, the population in Fresno County has grown a lot in the north but not much in the south.

The Citizens Redistricting Commission will look at the new numbers and might make the supervisor areas bigger in the north so each area has about the same number of people.
