§ 21531 Los Angeles Redistricting Commission

• •There is a group called the Citizens Redistricting Commission in Los Angeles County.
• •Every 10 years, after the federal census, this group changes the lines of the areas that each supervisor represents.
• •They do this to make sure each area has about the same number of people.

After the 2020 census, the commission looks at the population of each supervisorial district.

If one area has way more people than another, they will change the lines so that each supervisor has a fair number of people to represent.
