§ 21521 San Luis Obispo Redistricting Commission

• •There is a group called the Citizens Redistricting Commission in San Luis Obispo County.
• •Every 10 years, after the big national count of people (census), this group must change the lines of the areas that each county leader (supervisor) is in charge of.
• •They have to follow the rules in this chapter when they change the lines.

After the 2030 census, the county leaders' areas need to be updated because some places have more people now.

The Citizens Redistricting Commission will look at the new census numbers and redraw the lines so each leader has about the same number of people in their area. They can't just do whatever they want—they have to follow the rules in this law.
