§ 2606 Buyer Acceptance Of Goods

Key Takeaways

  • •You accept the goods if you say they're okay or keep them even if they're not perfect.
  • •If you don't reject the goods on time after checking them, you accept them.
  • •If you do something that shows you own the goods (like using or selling them), you accept them.
  • •If you accept even part of a set of goods, you accept the whole set.

Example

You buy a new phone online. It arrives, and you check it out. The screen has a small scratch, but you decide to keep it anyway because it still works fine.

By keeping the phone even though it's not perfect, you have accepted it. You can't later try to return it just because of the scratch.
