§ 14411 County Premises Marketing Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •Health plans can't just show up at county or state buildings to sell their services.
  • •If they want to talk to people at these places, they need a special deal with the county or state.
  • •Only certain people can do the selling: county workers, state workers, or approved salespeople from the health plan.
  • •All the flyers or talks they use must be checked and okayed by the department first.

Example

A health insurance company wants to set up a booth at a county fair to sign people up for their plan.

They can't just show up. They need to make a deal with the county first. Only county workers, state workers, or approved salespeople from the company can talk to people. And all the papers or speeches they use must be approved by the department.
