§ 9011 District Assessment Compensation Credits

• •If money is given to a district (like a levee or drainage district), it must be used to pay off the remaining bills for the land in that district.
• •The money is split fairly based on how much each landowner still owes.
• •This only applies to money that comes from the same bills the district is trying to pay off.

A drainage district gets $10,000 from a special fund to help pay off old bills for fixing flood problems.

The district must use this $10,000 to pay off the remaining bills for the landowners in the district. If one landowner still owes $1,000 and another owes $2,000, the money is split fairly to cover those bills.
