§ 8935 Bond Issue Cancellation Proceedings

Key Takeaways

  • •The law stops all actions related to selling certain bonds for a drainage project.
  • •These bonds were supposed to be paid for by a specific tax (Sutter-Butte Bypass assessment #6).
  • •Even though the bonds were approved, they were never sold, so now everything about them is canceled.

Example

Imagine your town planned to build a big ditch to stop flooding and wanted to pay for it by selling special tickets (bonds) to investors. The tickets were approved, but no one bought them.

This law says the town must stop all work on selling those tickets and cancel everything related to them.
