You and your friends go out to eat, and the bill comes. The waiter splits it evenly, but you only had a salad while your friends had steak and lobster.

If you don’t say anything about the bill being split unfairly at the time, you can’t later say it wasn’t fair. You have to pay your share, even if it feels wrong.
