§ 22083 Conduit Water Measurement Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you own a pipe or canal that carries water, you might need to put in tools to measure how much water is flowing.
  • •The district (local water bosses) decides where these tools go and what kind to use.
  • •This helps the watermaster (water cop) make sure people aren’t taking too much water and are using it for good things, like farming.

Example

A farmer has a big ditch that brings water from a river to his fields.

The water district tells him to put a meter in the ditch so they can check how much water he’s using. If he doesn’t do it, he could get in trouble.
