§ 10650 Water Supplier Legal Challenges

This law says if you want to challenge a water supplier's plan or decision for not following the rules, you have to do it quickly—within 18 months or 90 days, depending on the issue.

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't challenge a water supplier's plan or decision just anytime—there are strict time limits.
  • •If the supplier didn't make a required plan, you have 18 months to complain.
  • •If the plan or an action doesn't follow the rules, you only have 90 days to challenge it after it's filed or done.

Example

A city's water supplier makes a new plan for handling water shortages, but a group of residents thinks the plan doesn't follow the rules.

If the residents want to challenge the plan, they have to file their complaint within 90 days after the plan is officially filed. If they wait longer, they can't challenge it anymore.
