§ 99653 Rail Corridor Fund Reallocation

Key Takeaways

  • •Money given for projects in certain areas near train tracks can be moved to other spots along the same train route.
  • •The group getting the money must get permission from the commission and other agencies before moving the money.
  • •This rule only applies to train routes used for passenger trains.

Example

A city gets money to fix up a train station in one neighborhood but realizes another station further down the tracks needs more urgent repairs.

The city can ask for permission to use that money for the other station instead, as long as everyone involved agrees and both stations are on the same passenger train route.
