§ 98401 District Dissolution Election

• •If people want to close down a special district (like a water or school district), they can ask for a vote.
• •The vote must happen at least 74 days after the request is made.
• •The vote will be on the next regular election day that’s at least 74 days away.

A group of people in a small town don’t like how their local water district is run. They collect signatures and ask for a vote to shut it down.

The vote won’t happen right away. It has to wait at least 74 days and will be on the next normal election day (like a regular Tuesday election).
