§ 98394 Annexation Hearing And Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •The board listens to people who don't want their land added to the district.
  • •If at least two-thirds of the board thinks adding the land is good for it, they can go ahead.
  • •The board then decides the exact borders of the land to be added.

Example

A small town wants to add a nearby farm to their school district.

The school board listens to the farmer's concerns. If most of the board (at least two-thirds) thinks the farm would benefit from joining the district, they can decide to add the farm and set its new borders.
