§ 95493 Board Voting Requirements

• •The board must make decisions using motions, resolutions, or ordinances.
• •An ordinance cannot be passed on the same day it is introduced or within three days after.
• •Ordinances can only be passed during regular or adjourned regular meetings.
• •Any decision (ordinance, resolution, or motion) needs more than half of the directors to vote 'yes' to be valid.

A town board wants to pass a new rule about parking on Main Street.

The board can't vote on this new rule the same day they talk about it. They have to wait at least three days and can only vote during their normal meeting. Also, more than half of the board members must agree to make the rule official.
