§ 27506 Voter Approved District Dissolution

Key Takeaways

  • •If most people vote 'yes' to end something (like a special district or program), it gets shut down.
  • •The people in charge must count the votes right after the election.
  • •They have to meet the very next Monday to check and confirm the votes.

Example

A small town votes on whether to close down their local library because it’s too expensive to keep open.

If more than half the people vote 'yes' to close the library, then the library has to shut down. The town leaders must count all the votes and meet the next Monday to make it official.
