§ 27473 Transit District Annexation Objections

Key Takeaways

  • •If a district doesn't want its land to join a special transit service area, it can say no.
  • •The district must follow the rules in Article 6 to officially say no.
  • •The district can change its mind later by sending a paper saying it no longer objects.
  • •If the district changes its mind, the land automatically becomes part of the transit area.

Example

A small town doesn't want to join a bigger city's bus system.

The town can file a paper to say no, but if they later decide to join, they just send another paper saying they changed their mind, and then they’re part of the bus system.
