§ 27470 Annexation Completion Conditions

• •Annexation is complete once the resolution is filed with the district secretary.
• •If an election is required, the annexation is paused until the election results are counted.
• •The law applies to special transit service districts.

A city wants to add a new neighborhood to its bus service area.

The city files the paperwork to add the neighborhood. If no election is needed, the neighborhood is immediately part of the bus service area. If an election is needed, the neighborhood must wait until after the election results are counted to join.
