§ 27012 Annexation Election Notice Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Before an area can join a district, people must be told about it.
  • •The notice can either say where to find the full rules or include the full rules itself.
  • •The notice must be easy for everyone to see and understand.

Example

A small town wants to join a nearby school district.

The school district must put up a notice in the newspaper or online. This notice can either say where people can read the full rules about joining or include all the rules right there. This way, everyone knows what’s happening and can check the rules if they want.
