§ 223 Heating Plant Definition

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'heating plant' is anything used to make, send, or provide heat.
  • •This includes buildings, equipment, and land used for heating homes, businesses, or public places.
  • •It covers everything needed to run the heating system, not just the furnace or boiler.

Example

A school has a big boiler in the basement to keep classrooms warm in winter.

The boiler, pipes, and even the room where it’s kept are all part of the 'heating plant' because they help provide heat to the school.
