§ 15959 Territorial Unit Designation Rules

• •Later, the district's board can change or update these numbers or names if needed.

Imagine a big school district that includes several small towns that aren't officially part of any city. Each of these towns needs to be identified separately for elections and management.

The board running the first election will name or number each town, like 'Town 1,' 'Town 2,' etc. Later, the school district's board can rename them if they want, like changing 'Town 1' to 'Maple Town.'
