§ 13576 Wastewater Discharge Violations

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't dump dirty water where you're not supposed to.
  • •If the district says 'no dumping here' and you do it anyway, you break the law.
  • •If your dumping makes the place dirty or smelly, you can get in trouble.
  • •Breaking this rule is a small crime, like a misdemeanor.

Example

You wash your car in your driveway, and the soapy water runs into the street drain.

If the district says not to let soapy water go into the drain, and you do it anyway, you can get in trouble. It’s like when you’re told not to do something, but you do it anyway and make a mess.
