§ 11891 District Demand Payment Authority

• •The board can let the district pay for things without checking each one first.
• •This only works if the board already said 'yes' to spending money on that kind of thing.
• •The amount spent can't be more than what the board already approved.
• •The general manager has to say it's okay before paying.

The school district needs to buy new chairs for classrooms.

If the board already said they can spend $5,000 on chairs, the district can buy chairs without asking the board each time, as long as they don’t spend more than $5,000 and the general manager agrees.
