§ 106045 Budget Hearing Notice Requirements

• •Notice of the budget hearing must be published at least 15 days before the hearing.
• •The proposed budget must be available for anyone to look at at least 15 days before the hearing.
• •The notice has to follow the publishing rules in Section 6061 of the Government Code.

The town wants to adopt its 2024 budget. It puts a notice in the local newspaper and on the town website saying the budget meeting will be on March 20, and it uploads the budget documents to the website on March 5.

Because the notice and the budget were posted more than 15 days before the March 20 meeting, the town is following the law.
