§ 106031 Board Meeting Procedures

• •All board meetings must follow Chapter 9 rules.
• •Chapter 9 starts at Section 54950 of the Government Code.
• •If a board ignores those rules, the meeting may not be legal.

A school district board holds a meeting to decide on a new bus route.

Because of this law, the board must run the meeting the way Chapter 9 tells them to—like giving public notice, letting people speak, and keeping minutes. If they skip those steps, the meeting could be ruled invalid.
