§ 103287 Transit Service Rate Setting

This law says the board decides any fees for public transit and those fees have to be fair.

Key Takeaways

  • •The board chooses any transit fares or charges.
  • •Charges must be reasonable, not excessive.
  • •If no charge is needed, the law still allows that.

Example

A city runs a bus line and wants to charge $2.50 per ride.

The board sets that $2.50 price, and it must be a reasonable amount for riders.
