§ 101150 District Board Authority

This law says the board can take care of any district business that isn’t already covered by other rules, and its authority includes the listed powers but isn’t limited to only those.

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can handle any district tasks that aren’t already covered by other parts of the law.
  • •The board’s powers include what’s listed, but it can also do other things not listed.
  • •The board’s authority is broad, not limited only to the powers specifically mentioned.

Example

The board wants to add a new recycling program, but the existing rules don’t mention recycling.

Because the law says the board can handle any necessary matters not already provided for, the board can set up the recycling program even though it isn’t specifically listed in the rules.
