§ 252 National Guard Officer Appointments

This law says how leaders in the National Guard are chosen. It explains who can pick them and what rules they must follow.

Key Takeaways

  • •Leaders in the National Guard are picked by higher-ups, not by regular soldiers.
  • •If you want to be a leader, your current boss has to recommend you first.
  • •Some jobs require passing a test before you can be promoted.

Example

A soldier wants to become a sergeant in their National Guard unit.

Their unit leader recommends them, and then the bigger boss (like the brigade commander) decides if they get the job. If there's a test, they have to pass it first.
